How it works
Find the company, say what should be better, and let other people add their weight to it.
Posting
Every suggestion asks for the same three things, in the same order: what the problem is, what good would look like, and — optionally — one way it could be solved.
The separation matters. Two people can want the same outcome and suggest completely different solutions, and if the request is written as “add a dropdown here” those two people look like they want different things. Written as the problem, they can be combined.
Duplicates
As you type, the site checks whether somebody has already asked for the same thing — matching both the words you used and what you meant. If they have, you are shown their post and can back it instead.
Backing an existing request is worth more than starting a new one. Four hundred people on one request is a number a company notices; four hundred separate posts saying the same thing is noise.
Statuses
Every suggestion sits in one of these, and the history of every change stays public.
- Open — posted, nobody has responded.
- Under review — the company has acknowledged it.
- Planned and In progress — the company has said it is coming, or is being built.
- Done — the company built it. This count only ever contains things a company actually shipped.
- Already possible — it turned out you can do this today, it was just hard to find. Kept separate from Done on purpose, because it is a different fact: a request with hundreds of backers that was always possible is a discoverability problem, and that is worth knowing.
- Filed away — declined, not planned, or closed. Still public. A company can change a status but can never make a request disappear.
Who can change a status
Mostly the company, once it has claimed its page. There is one exception: if a member posts that a request is already possible, links the company's own documentation showing where the setting is, and two other people confirm it works, the request moves to Already possible by itself.
That route is deliberately narrow. It cannot overwrite a status a company has already set, you cannot confirm your own note, and the link is required — because a claim about what a product can do should be checkable by whoever reads it next.
Anonymity
You can post anonymously. Your name is hidden from everyone, including the company, and it stays hidden — there is no setting that reveals it later.
Votes are private in every case. Nobody can see who backed a request, not the company, not other members. Your profile shows a count of what you have done publicly, and anonymous posts are excluded from it.
Companies
Every company has a page whether or not it has claimed it. A claimed page lets the company reply and set statuses. It does not let them delete anything, hide anything, or change a count. See for companies.
If something goes wrong
Every suggestion and every comment has a report link. Reports go to a real moderation queue. Read the guidelines for what gets removed and what does not.
